HOPE Award Programme
If you are an educational setting and would like to join us on our journey towards a society without abuse, our HOPE Award is the programme for you.
The HOPE award encompasses training for the staff team, healthy relationships sessions for children/young people and drop-in sessions for the settings community. Settings will have a dedicated HOPE Educational Support worker as their key contact. We are delighted to work with early years, primary, secondary and further education settings.
The HOPE programme is a multi-faceted programme designed to:
- Create a knowledgeable and confident workforce
- Create safe spaces for children/young people and parents to talk and share
- Improve outcomes for children and young people
What Does SWA Provide?
- Deliver quality training
- Provide access to timely support from an Education Support Worker
- Share healthy relationship resources with staff and provide Train The Trainer sessions
- Create a whole family approach to support – for parents and children/young people – affected by domestic abuse
What Is the Commitment from the School/College?
- Enable staff training for all employees
- Advertise a safe space where families experiencing abuse can receive support
- Arrange and support healthy relationships workshops and assemblies
- Nominate SWA Ambassadors who can support children, families and staff

Referrals come from a range of organisations including the voluntary/charity sector, children services, health and education as well as direct. Together we can assess the issues and make recommendations as to how best to approach each individual situation.
